Friends and family packed Praise Temple Baptist Church in Shreveport Friday evening for the viewing of popular local restaurant owner, Orlando Chapman. The parking lot in front of the church had bumper to bumper traffic and friends waited shoulder to shoulder in the lobby leading into the auditorium as the service started.
"As you can see by the big turnout today, everywhere he went he touched someone's life," said longtime friend, Darryl Lane.
Chapman, 49, passed away Tuesday after suffering a heart attack while at Cross Lake. Chapman was the owner of the Brothers Seafood restaurants in Shreveport and Bossier City.
Praise Temple Bishop, Larry Brandon, remembered Chapman's service to the community and willingness to help those around him. "He gave people a second chance, he provided economic opportunity, employment opportunities for those who are jobless and those that needed another chance," Brandon said.
The funeral for Orlando Chapman will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 28th at The Shreveport Convention Center.
