NBC 6 News Exclusive: Surveillance video of Timpson earthquake

An east Texas community's Labor Day holiday was abruptly interrupted by two earthquakes. Neighbors told NBC 6 News two earthquakes hit two hours apart. Fortunately no major damage has been reported.

The first quake shook the town around 4:50pm Monday. It measured 4.1 on the Richter scale. Another earthquake hit Timpson around 6:50pm. This one measured 4.3.

The Shelby County Sheriff's Department received calls about minor damage such as pictures falling off walls and items falling off shelves. People across east Texas felt Monday’s quakes including people in Carthage.

This isn't the first quake in east Texas. Since July 2011, 15 earthquakes measuring 2.0 or higher have hit east Texas.
