An early morning house fire leaves one man dead, another without a place to live, and a neighborhood in shock.
Shreveport Fire Department arrived to a burning duplex in the 4600 block of Southern Avenue. Inside they found a 55 year old man dead, he lived on the second floor.
"He was one of my best friends. Anytime I needed help with food when money was tight he was there for me. I'll really miss him. He took me under his wing and helped me find a job. He was a great guy," neighbor John Burge said.
The fire and cause of death remain under investigation.
