Neighbors say they're tired of the ongoing violence taking place in local streets. Just five days ago two people were shot in the Queensborough area on Darien Street.

Neighbors say they're tired of not feeling safe in their own homes. However they don't know what to do except remain fearful.

Shots were fired at the corner of Del Rio and Jewella Avenue Wednesday morning. A three hour standoff happened a block away from Ethel Benton's home.

“I said Lord what's going on now"

Ethel is fed up with the ongoing violence. Queensborough residents all too often see crime scene tape and police cars near their homes. They all hope the shootings will end.

Councilman Sam Jenkins has a warning for anyone taking part in violent crimes.

"We're not going to tolerate criminal activity and violence of any kind from anybody.”

Jenkins went on to say good people live in this community who want to help fight crime. He told us police patrols will be beefed up throughout Queensborough.
