New beginnings for TASD Superintendent

The school year brings a new start for many.
The school year brings a new start for many, including for one at the Texarkana, Arkansas School District.

Becky Kesler's accepted the position of Superintendent on July 1st.

Kesler signed a 2-year contract and will oversee the district's 9 campuses.

She says her honesty and trustworthiness will help her lead the students to a successful year.

“You have to be able to communicate," said Kesler. "That’s one of our goals for this year. We want to have a two way communication with our parents, with our community, with our staff.”

For the past seven years, Kesler was TASD's Assistant Superintendent.

She's also served as Union Elementary Principal.
