The warrant was issued for Gabriel Lee, 31, of Shreveport, who has been charged with simple aggravated cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor. Bond was set at $5,000.
In early September, owners of a local storage facility went into one of its units after the rent became past due. There, owners discovered what first appeared to be an animal carcass, but on closer inspection was a barely-alive dog. Neither food nor water were in the unit, and
the animal was sleeping on the concrete floor.
The storage unit officials took the dog to a local animal hospital, where he was named "Braveheart" and nursed back to health by a local veterinarian.
