Pay tribute to veterans by rolling up your sleeve

You can show your appreciation to those who made the ultimate sacrifice by donating blood.
You can show your appreciation to those who made the ultimate sacrifice by donating blood.

During the month of November you can give blood at LifeShare Blood Centers in honor of a Veteran.  You will receive a card indicating that you gave blood in honor of a Veteran.

The donor can add a personal message of thanks and their signature. LifeShare will be sending the signed cards to Veterans through Operation Gratitude.

Tina Hooper, spokesperson for LifeShare Blood Centers said, "By giving blood in honor of a Veteran, donors are providing a life-saving resource for them and our country, just as they gave so much of themselves for us."

If you give blood, you will also be given a patriotic-themed, "Honor. Duty. Privilege. Proud American Blood Donor," t-shirt.

LifeShare Blood Centers provides blood to Veterans' Medical Centers in Shreveport and Alexandria, La., as well as area hospitals where many Veterans are treated.

Blood donations are accepted at LifeShare Blood Centers on 8910 Linwood Ave. in Shreveport, 1523 Doctors Dr. in Bossier City and 1321 College Dr. in Texarkana, Texas.
