A pilot and co-pilot are dead after a large UPS cargo plane crashes in Birmingham, Alabama. Erika Edwards reports.
At least two people are dead following a UPS cargo plane crash near Birmingham, Alabama's airport.
The plane went down as it approached the airport, killing the pilot and co-pilot.
The Airbus A-300 was flying out of Louisville, Kentucky and was roughly 1/2 mile from the runway when it went down.
Witnesses reported a loud "fluttering" sound followed by a boom as the plane hit the ground.
A National Transportation Safety Board team is en route to investigate.
Weather is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
