Sabine Parish authorities have confirmed that a body found over the weekend is that of Tony Procell.
Monday morning Warden Joe Dewil, Jr. with the Sabine Parish Detention Center announced during a press conference that Procell was discovered around 3 p.m. Sunday in Winn Parish.
The father-in-law of Robert Barthelemy, the man accused of kidnapping Procell, was searching near Hwy 156 and Sandy Point Rd. when he stumbled upon a shovel and Procell’s sunglasses.
The father-in-law said he and Barthelemy had hunted together in this area in the past.
Procell’s body has been taken to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, later today prosecutors are expected to charge Barthelemy with first degree murder. Prosecutors also believe this will be a death penalty case.
