Sabine Parish Deputy Coroner releases details on a body found in Winn Parish

We now know more details surrounding the discovery of a body in Winn Parish.
Monday afternoon NBC 6 reached out to Sabine Parish Deputy Coroner Ron Rivers to get details on the body discovered in Kisatchi National Forest in Winn Parish.

Authorities believe that body is Tony Procell: a man reportedly kidnapped by Natchitoches Police Officer Robert Barthelemy last week. They say Barthelemy claimed he left Procell in Kisatchi National Forest.

Family, friends, sheriff's deputies and investigators searched the forest every day since the alleged kidnapping on Tuesday.

Authorities tell us the body was found Sunday afternoon by Tony Procell's Father-in-law saw a shallow grave.

Rivers told us that the man was knocked in the back of the head, possibly knocking him unconscious. After that, he was beaten badly in the face and head.

Rivers says he was dead before being buried.

The LSU F.A.C.E.S. team, which stands for Forensic Anthropology and Computer Enhancement Services, will assist the Sabine Parish Coroner's Office in reconstructing the face and positively identifying the body.
