School threat lands teen behind bars

A teenager has been arrested after he allegedly made a threat to harm students and faculty at a school in Natchitoches.
A teenager has been arrested after he allegedly made a threat to harm students and faculty at a school in Natchitoches.

Thursday morning Natchitoches Central High School was placed on locked down after school officials learned that someone may be bringing a weapon on the campus.

De'Kerry Booker, 18, was taken into custody a short time later at his home in the 100 block of South Bend Dr.

Booker is accused of sending messages via social media about his plans the night before to several friends.

The messages were shared with other students who brought it to the attention of their School Resource Officers who then informed authorities.

Booker was placed in the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and charged with one count of Terrorizing.
