It's another crime scene in the streets of Shreveport.
Someone shot up a home in the 2000 block of Murray Street late Monday night.
An 8-year-old girl, sleeping in her bed, was hit by one of the bullets.
"When I heard the gunshots, I got up out the bed and walked to the door,” says an anonymous neighbor. “I looked outside and saw cars going up and down the street and police pulling up."
One of the neighbors didn't want to go on camera, but said it's unfortunate that a little girl is the victim of violence.
"I just hate that,” he says. “That's sad because she probably didn't have anything to do with whatever was going on and she's still young to at the same time."
Plus in the 15 years that he’s lived in Caddo Heights, he says the area is relatively quiet.
"It's a good area, it's a quiet area, but lately a lot of people have been moving in and it's been getting busy," the man says.
The girl's injury is serious, but she's expected to survive.
In the meantime, police are trying to key in on getting a suspect description.
"There's no doubt someone out there knows who fired the shots that struck this little girl."
Another neighbor who didn't want to go on camera, told us when he heard the gunshots, he went to his window, and saw a man run to a car in the street and speed off.
Officers are relying on neighbors like him for information.
"You know when we talk about solving violent crimes may times our being able to identify apprehend the suspect comes as a result of someonestepping up, and saying, ‘I'm not going to allow this kind of thing in my neighborhood.’"
As a reminder, police say if you know anything, call them. They want your information, not your name.
