Shreveport firefighter arrested for domestic violence

Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a Shreveport firefighter accused of domestic abuse battery following an early morning dispute.

Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a Shreveport firefighter accused of domestic abuse battery following an early morning dispute.

 

Just before 6:30 a.m. on September 17, 2013, Shreveport Police responded to the 6700 block of Jefferson Paige road relative to a domestic disturbance.  Upon officers arrival at the home, contact was made with an adult female victim who advised Traotis Robinson her estranged husband came to her residence, entered without permission and committed a subsequent battery upon her person. Robinson, 34 of the 6300 block of Timberman Place, allegedly grabbed the woman about the neck and began strangling her. Robinson was not on scene at the arrival of officers; however contact was made with him sometime later. 

 

Upon authorities contact with Robinson, he was interviewed by Shreveport Police Domestic Violence detectives at police headquarters.  Following interviews, Robinson was arrested and subsequently charged with a single count of domestic abuse battery. 


Robinson, a 7-year veteran, has been placed on paid administrative leave by Fire Chief Fred Mulford pending an internal investigation in to alleged police violations.
