Shreveport man recovering from gun shot wound

A Shreveport man is recovering from surgery after being shot Friday evening in west Shreveport.
A Shreveport man is recovering from surgery after being shot Friday evening in west Shreveport.

Just before 7:00 p.m. on November 15, 2013, Shreveport Police officers were called to an apartment complex located in the 7000 block of West 70th Street relative to a man who had been shot there. 

Upon the arrival of officers, contact was made with the victim, 24 year old Demarcus Netter. 

Netter, who was located near the apartment complex's pool area, was suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the legs, with a single gunshot wound the midsection. 

Netter was subsequently transported to University Medical Center where he is expected to recover from his injuries.

Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives along with Crime Scene investigators were called to the scene launching additional investigation into the matter.

Preliminary investigation suggests the shooting was result of an apparent robbery attempt during an alleged narcotics transaction. 

Authorities at this time are still searching for at least two unknown suspects who are believed to be involved in the shooting. 

One suspect of limited description, was described as a black male of slender build and dark complexion, last seen wearing a knit cap. 

The second suspect was described as a lighter skinned black male with a slender build wearing a red jacket and a baseball cap. 

The suspects were seen fleeing the apartment complex immediately following the shooting, traveling in a dark colored sport utility vehicle.
