Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover announces a new community service for senior citizens.
The Council on Aging in both Caddo and Bossier and the Elder Law Task Force are presenting the first Northwest Louisiana Elder Law Boot Camp.
The free educational seminar offers critical information for seniors such as writing a will, handling your estate, power of attorney, and more.
Plus, you can get free consultation from several local attorneys.
"Sometimes we put those things off because we don't want to admit that maybe we're getting a little bit older. I'm kind of in the baby boom generation and I know a lot of my friends have not taken care of this and you should be taking care of this. You should be taking care of this when you're twenties," says Caddo Council on Aging executive director Mary Alice Rountree.
The camp is Thursday, January 23, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Riverview Hall on Clyde Fant Parkway. Lunch is provided but seating is limited. Call 676-7900 to make reservations.
