A Shreveport woman is behind bars this evening and a man narrowly escaped serious injury after being stabbed this afternoon.

Amy Williams, 29, of Shreveport, was arrested this afternoon after stabbing 45-year-old Bobby Powell of Shreveport.

Just before 2:30 p.m. today, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to an apartment complex located in the 1900 block of Patzman Street relative to a male victim who had been stabbed there.

Upon their arrival, police made contact with Powell, who sustained a non life-threatening stab wound to the neck. Powell was transported to University Health Medical Center by Shreveport Fire Department medics.

Information and evidence gathered at the scene by SPD Violent Crimes investigators linked Williams to Powell’s stabbing.  Williams is Powell’s girlfriend, and investigators believe an argument between the two led up to the stabbing.  Williams was arrested on scene at the home and later transported by officers to the Shreveport City Jail where she was booked on a single count of aggravated battery.
