Suspect arrested in Wholesale Tire burglary

A Shreveport man now faces criminal charges following his arrest in connection with the burglary of a Shreveport business last month.

A Shreveport man now faces criminal charges following his arrest in connection with the burglary of a Shreveport business last month.


Steven Hightower, 44, has been charged with simple burglary of the Wholesale Tire Company in north Shreveport.


On  November 15, 2013, Shreveport Police were called to investigate the burglary of  Wholesale Tire, located in the 900 block of Grimmett Drive.
 

During investigators’ probe of the incident, surveillance video from inside the business helped lead authorities to the identity of one of two men captured on camera. 


Officers with the Shreveport Police Department's Property Crimes Unit were successful in procuring a warrant for the arrest of the suspect, identified as Hightower of the 200 block of Wall Street. 


Hightower was located and taken into custody on the outstanding warrant. Hightower, who is currently being housed at the Caddo Correctional Center, was interviewed by detectives regarding his alleged involvement in the crime. 

Authorities are still seeking the identity of the second man as the investigation continues.
