Suspect in Bossier attempted armed robbery & stabbing busted in Texas

A man wanted by Bossier City police for attempting to rob a woman at knifepoint last month has been arrested in Texas.

Efforts are being made to extradite a man wanted by Bossier City police for attempting to rob a woman at knifepoint last month after he was arrested in Texas.

Jose Emmanuel Urista Martinez, 21, of Opelousas, Louisiana was arrested Wednesday by authorities in Seguin, Texas.

Bossier City police obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of attempted
armed robbery after he tried to rob a woman on September 14, 2013 as she got
into her car to leave the parking lot of Harrah’s Louisiana Downs.

During the incident the victim sustained cuts to her hands and chest as she attempted to take away a knife that Martinez had in his hand.

Martinez then fled the scene on foot after not taking anything from the victim who was later taken to a local hospital by Bossier City Fire Department personnel to have her wounds treated.

Martinez worked for a third party contractor in the racetrack’s stable area and was not an employee of Harrah’s Louisiana Downs.
