Tuesday afternoon Emerald Cheatham, 19, and Nefretiri Carter, 22, both of El Dorado, were arrested during a traffic stop on Interstate-20.

Cheatham and Carter are accused of taking a wallet and purse from a display rack inside Dillard's.  The women then fled in a car but were stopped by police a short time later near Hamilton Rd.

Officers recovered the stolen purse and wallet from inside the vehicle and merchandise from the Bossier City Walmart and Stage stores that Cheatham and Carter had allegedly stolen earlier in the day.

Police also found numerous articles of clothing and accessories as well as 4 computers and a DVD player and that were taken from a Walmart in Camden, Arkansas.  The stolen merchandise was valued at more than $4800.

Cheatham and Carter were both booked into the Bossier City Jail and charged with theft of goods and illegal possession of stolen things.
