Teleperformance hosts Shreveport job fair

Call center hopes to add 740 jobs by 2014.
In early September Teleperformance announced it would expand its operations in Shreveport by 740 jobs and on Wednesday the company began the process of filling those positions.

An all day job fair was held at Independence Stadium in Shreveport. The company is hiring for customer service and technical support agents for its call center operations as well as human resources training and management positions. Earlier in the month a Teleperformance spokesperson said the jobs are expected to pay between $9 and $14 dollars per hour.

Erica Franklin, Recruiting Manager with Teleperformance says the turnout was positive Wednesday morning and the company hopes to hire for 400 of the 740 by the end of the year. She says hiring so many people can be challenging but there is local help. "It can be but we have the right support behind us through the state and the city, they are really supportive so we we should be able to meet that challenge," Franklin says.

The City of Shreveport, the North Louisiana Economic Partnership and the Louisiana Workforce Commission loaned support for the job fair.  Teleperformance is expected to hold an additional job fair at a later date. Weekly job fairs take place at the Teleperformance Shreveport site. For more information you can visit their website

The company will fill the remaining 340 positions in 2014.
