The 4th Annual TexarCANa Kick Hunger Bowl starts Wednesday, August 28th.

Harvest Texarkana has partnered with all schools on both sides to host the Food Drive.

Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at any campus, or the Harvest Texarkana Warehouse.

Items needed include:
-canned vegetables
-canned pasta
-tuna
-dry rice and pasta
-juice boxes
-canned fruit
-soup
-cereal
-sugar
-flour

The drive goes until September 6th.

Harvest Texarkana Executive Director, Camille Parker, says everyone needs to donate.

"Last time we did this, we got 45,000 pounds of food, so this year we're looking to raise that and get 50,000 pounds of food," said Parker. "The community is willing to put together and really do things that benefit each other and benefit their neighbors and they want to make their community better in every way they can."

Everything donated stays in the area to help local families in need.

$1 = 5 pounds donated.

In Texarkana, 1 out of 4 children are hungry, and 1 out of 5 adults are hungry.
