Texarkana's Cattle Barron Ball a success

The first-ever Cattle Barron's Ball was a success.
The figures are in, and the first-ever Cattle Barron's Ball was a success.

The event, hosted by the American Cancer Society, was held in Texarkana.

Officials say their goal was $50,000.

However, thanks to the generosity of many, more than $83,000 was raised.

A portion of that money will help fund local American Cancer Society Programs.

The majority of money will go to cancer research across the country.

A date has been set for next year's Cattle Barron Ball.

Officials tell Channel 6 it'll be scheduled for the first weekend in October, on October 4th, 2014.
