They came from everywhere, all hoping to make it to heir final destination

Bob Monaco is driving with his wife and their three-year-old puppy from New York.

They made a quick stop in Texarkana before heading west.

"So far, it's been pretty good," said Monaco. "Except we hit some bad weather Tuesday in Tennessee. It's a long trip that's for sure."

In 2011, Arkansas car crashes injured 241 people and killed three.

Last year in Texas, more than 950 people were seriously injured, and 48 died from traffic related crashes.
