This morning Shreveport Regional Airport held a press conference and ribbon cutting. The event was to showcase they're brand-new nine hundred thousand dollar fire truck, a 2012 Oshkosh Striker 3000, thanks to the state department of Transportation Airport Division.
They showed off the equipment this at TAC-AIR and demonstrated all of its features.
It hold 3,000 gallons water, 500 gallons of foam, and 400 pounds of dry chemical agent.
The aircraft rescue and fire fighting division gave the demonstration.
The main difference between the Striker 3000 and a regular fire truck is the ability to pump and roll-- meaning it can drive and spray at the same time.
