Shreveport-Bossier,LA-The ABA Mavericks 2013-14 Season is officially underway after and the team has finalized their opening roster. The last round of player releases were carried out just this morning. The roster is as follows:

The next Maverick opponent is the New Orleans Cougars, coached by the son of HBCU coaching legend Alcorn State’s Dave Whitney Sr. and former point guard of Coach Steve Tucker, Dave Whitney, Jr. The Cougars starting shooting guard is former LSU Tiger standout, 6’ 5” Torris Bright. The Cougars are a very lengthy, athletic and defensively talented team.
“They have a very good bench that may be even better than their starters. Their second unit has shown to be very athletic on the offensive glass and they also put a lot of pressure on the ball specifically in the backcourt”, says Mavs Assistant Coach and Head Scout Jonathan Greenaway.
