The Bossier Sheriff's Office, along with Bossier City Police Department and Louisiana State Police catch one drunk driver after checking more than 300 vehicles on Airline Dr.

Authorities conducted the checkpoint between 10 p.m. Thursday until 4 a.m. Friday south of Brownlee Rd.

Officers performed 11 Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which resulted in one arrest for DWI.

A second arrest was made on drug charges and 8 citations were issued for other traffic violations.

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington said "We will continue to send the message about the dangers of driving while impaired and encourage drivers to think twice before getting behind the wheel when they've had too much to drink."

The sobriety checkpoint was conducted from a $14,040 grant awarded to the Bossier Sheriff's Office from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission for DWI Enforcement.
