The Webster Parish School System has a new leader. The school board selected Dr. Daniel Rawls as the new superintendent.

He has worked as superintendent of the Pointe Coupee School System. Rawls says he's ready to tackle the district's budget problems.

"I’m going to take a good hard look at the finances. I understand they're in the same boat many other districts are in. We're certainly going to have to live within our means."

Rawls says he should get to work in Webster Parish in the next two to three weeks.
