What you should know before heading out to AdvoCare V100 Bowl

There are several things you need to be aware of when you are making your way to Independence Stadium for the big showdown between the University of Arizona and Boston College.
There are several things you need to be aware of when you are making your way to Independence Stadium for the big showdown between the University of Arizona and Boston College.
 
Items Prohibited From Independence Stadium:
  • Outside food or drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
  • Ice chests/coolers
  • Video Cameras
  • Firearms
  • Mace
  • Knives
  • Pocket Tools
  • Straight Blades
  • Tazer/Stun Guns
  • Umbrellas
  • Oversize Bags (Bags must fit in 12″×12″ box)
  • Laser Pointers/Lights

Parking
  • A limited number of reserved parking spaces adjacent to Independence Stadium are available for $25 each through the bowl office, by calling 888-414-BOWL, or through the bowl website at www.advocarev100bowl.org.
  • Cash-only parking lots are available for around the State Fair Grounds and will be open on game day. Parking in these lots is $15. There will be a limited number of available spaces.
  • Fans can pre-purchase passes for the general parking lots for $10 by calling the Bowl Office or ordering online at www.independencebowl.org. A parking layout is inserted in this brochure as a guide to reserved and open parking lots.

  • Handicap Parking - Handicap parking costs $10 and is located adjacent to the north side of Independence Stadium in a designated lot, as well as on the north side of Hirsch Coliseum.
  • RV Parking - RV spaces are also available on the Louisiana State Fair Grounds. The price, including hook-up, is $50 per day. To make reservations for RV space, contact the State Fair Office at 318-635-1361.

  • Tailgating/Parking - A special lot conveniently located northeast of Independence Stadium, the White Lot, has been reserved for tailgate parties. The price is $25 per parking space. To make reservations for tailgating space contact the State Fair Office at 318-635-1361.

  • Grass Tailgate Areas can be purchased through the State Fair Office and the price depends on the amount of space. Charter buses and limousine passes are $50 each and can also be purchased through the State Fair Office.

Parking Instructions:
  • Traffic exiting from I-20 onto Greenwood Road will enter the Louisiana State Fair Grounds through the Stadium Drive Gate
  • Traffic exiting from I-20 onto Hearne Avenue will enter the Louisiana State Fair Grounds through the Kings Highway gate.
  • Traffic exiting from I-20 onto Jewella Avenue will enter the Louisiana State Fair Grounds through the Fair Street gate. The Fair Street gate allows access to the VIP lots, bus lots, and the south RV lot.
  • Traffic may also exit at Lakeshore Drive off of I-20 from the east and proceed south on Hearne to the Louisiana State Fair Grounds via Greenwood Road or the Kings Highway gate.
  • Traffic may also exit at Monkhouse Drive off of I-20 from the west and proceed east on Greenwood Road to the Louisiana State Fair Grounds via the Stadium Drive gate.
  • Traffic exiting through the Stadium Drive gate must proceed west bound on Greenwood Road, traveling to Monkhouse Drive. Turning south on Monkhouse Drive to I-20. There will be no left turn onto Jewella Avenue from Greenwood Road!
  • Traffic exiting through the Fair Street gate must proceed southbound on Jewella Avenue to I-20. No right turn onto Jewella Avenue from Fair Street will be allowed!
  • Traffic exiting through the Hudson Street gate will be diverted eastbound on Midway to Linwood Avenue, proceeding north on Linwood Avenue to I-20. No right turn onto Midway from Hudson Street will be permitted!
  • Traffic exiting through the Grosjean Street gate must proceed eastbound on Greenwood Road through Hearne Avenue to I-20 or traffic may turn north on Hearne Avenue to Lakeshore. Drive (east) to I-20.
  • Traffic exiting from Missouri Street must proceed eastbound on Greenwood Road through Hearne Avenue to I-20 or traffic may turn north on Hearne Avenue to Lakeshore Drive (east) to I-20.
  • Traffic exiting through the Kings Highway gate from the large lot will use the two south lanes on Kings Highway and will turn right onto Hearne Avenue to I-20.
  • Traffic exiting through the Kings Highway gate from Pershing Avenue will use the two north lanes and will proceed eastbound on Kings Highway to Linwood Road.

Independence Stadium Directions:

  • From the West on I-20: Take I-20 east to the Jewella Avenue or Hearne Avenue exits. Take either exit and turn left. Follow directions according to accompanying map for parking entrances.
  • From the East on I-20: Take I-20 west to the Hearne Avenue or Jewella Avenue exits. Take either exit and turn right. Follow directions according to accompanying map for parking entrances.
  • From the South on I-49: Take I-20 west towards Dallas. Take either the Hearne Avenue or Jewella Avenue exits and turn right. Follow directions according to accompanying map for parking entrances.
The AdvoCare V100 Bowl is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 at Independence Stadium.
