Winter Storm Cleon brings stormy weather to the Texarkana area.
Friday morning, rain and thunder hit the Twin Cities.
Although chilly, temperatures luckily stayed above freezing.
Drivers still took caution on slick roadways.
Channel 6 spoke with Eric Schlotter, the Texas-side Emergency Management Agency Coordinator.
Schlotter said there were a few accidents, none of which were weather related.
He also says that the 72-hour response plan is still in effect, and that emergency and city personnel are on standby.
By about 4:30pm Friday, light snow began falling around Texarkana.
The flakes didn't stick to the ground, but showed residents that temperatures were starting to drop.
Schlotter is warning people in the area to still use caution when driving.
Roads became very wet from the morning's showers, and cautions that Friday night into Saturday morning, roads could become quite icy.
