Clouds return Friday. Rain returns Saturday.

Temperatures to stay above normal.

Clouds and a little rain to return to end the work week and begin the weekend.  Temperatures to stay above normal for the next week.  Rainfall totals looking rather light.

Thursday proved to be another rather pleasant January day with lots of sunshine and above normal temperatures.  We did get off to a rather chilly start as lows dropped into the 20s over most of the area.  Daytime highs soared back into the middle 60s over most of the area.  It will not be as chilly Thursday night.  Thanks to some late night clouds, temperatures will be some ten degrees warmer with lows in the mid to upper 30s.  Those clouds will keep temperatures down a bit Friday with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.  Rain chances Friday are looking very slim.

We should begin to see the chance for rain increase Friday night into Saturday. A rumble of thunder will also be possible Saturday, but I don't expect any severe weather.  In fact, rainfall potential is looking light for most of the area with amounts of less than 1/4" expected.  We could see some heavier totals over the SE and N edges of the area.

Look for sunshine to return to the Arklatex Sunday  It will likely stick around through Wednesday of next week.  Temperatures during this period will likely stay above normal.  We'll see daytime in the mid to upper 60s.  Overnight lows will mainly be in the 30s and 40s.  Our next shot at rain could return as soon as Thursday of next week when another front arrives.  Rainfall totals from this disturbance are also looking rather light.

Average High/Low for today's date: 58/37.
