Winter Storm Warning for much of the ArkLaTex

One to three inches expected for almost all of the area

Winter Storm Warning in effect for much of the Arklatex.  One to three inches of snow expected.  Snow could stay on the ground until Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning that is in effect through much of Tuesday.  Rain will begin to develop across the area Monday evening.  This rain will change over to a winter mix and then to snow Monday night.  Models are still in good agreement that we will see some accumulation.  Expect one to two inches over most of the area.  There could be a zone from Linden, TX to Caddo Lake into Miller, Lafayette, and Columbia counties in SW AR and northern Caddo, Bossier, Webster, and Claiborne parishes in NW LA where two to as much as three inches could fall.  The snow will end early Tuesday morning over the northern part of the area.  It should end by mid morning in Shreveport and noon over the southern edge of the area.

This snowfall will likely stick around for a few days.  Temperatures Tuesday will likely stay below freezing over the entire area.  Under a clear sky Tuesday night lows will dip into the teens.  Most of Wednesday will also be below freezing with highs in the low to mid 30s.  We will dip into the teens again Wednesday night and then finally return to the 40s Thursday.  The rest of the week is looking more typical with highs in the 50s and 60s.
