Fernanda Hernandez

Fernanda Hernandez joined the KTAL NBC News Today and KMSS Fox News Good Day team in December 2020.

Fernanda is a native of Querétaro, Mexico and a graduate of Texas A&M University – Texarkana, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. She was awarded Undergrad of the Year upon graduation in 2015, and in 2019 she received the Distinguished Young Alumni Award. 

Fernanda began her career in media in Texarkana as an intern at local online news outlet, TXK Today News. She went on to work full-time as a general assignment reporter for TXK Today, where she developed as a journalist, and cultivated her knowledge in the production of immediate coverage of real-time as well as anticipated news in the form of written copy and video.

In 2017, Fernanda accepted a Multi-Media Account Executive position with KTAL NBC 6, allowing her to focus on media marketing and executing innovative marketing campaigns in broadcast television. Fernanda also worked as talent for NBC 6, taking part in local commercials, voiceovers, studio interviews and the writing of commercial scripts. In addition, she was a freelance writer for local publications such as Four States Living Magazine.

Since moving to Louisiana, Fernanda has immersed herself in the culture and strives to showcase the beauty of the people of the Ark-La-Tex, their successes, and efforts to make this a great place to live.

Before joining KTAL NBC News Today and KMSS Fox News Good Day, she hosted Loving Living Local on NBC 6 at 12:30 p.m., where she strived daily to shine a spotlight on a variety of lifestyle topics in her mission to positively affect the community by providing positive entertainment and useful information.

When Fernanda isn’t on-air, you can find her at the gym, traveling, taking photographs, writing poetry, listening to music or watching movies.
