Local families and tourists enjoy annual Krewe of Centaur parade

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – This was the 29th year for the annual parade that started back in 1991. Named after the mythological half-man half-horse, the Krewe is bound together by the common goals of building a better community and the pursuit of good family fun.

A lot of parade goers come from far and wide. Erlinda Ramirez and her husband came down from Georgetown, Texas. This is their second time in attendance.

“It’s awesome. It’s different from what we usually seen, but it’s really nice,” said Ramirez.

Anna Espinoza is from Dallas and was visiting Shreveport with her daughter. She didn’t know about the parade at all while walking around the Boardwalk, until she heard music.

“I see everybody. I see all the floats and so we walked over and waiting since for about an hour, but I’m excited for the parade. This is the first time being here,” said Espinoza.
