LOVING LIVING LOCAL – In the spirit of love, Biskie shares with us her recipe for heart-shaped biscuits. If you’re spending Valentine’s Day at home, why not do Valentine’s Day brunch? Below is a list of ingredients and instructions to make this recipe.

INGREDIENTS FOR BISCUITS

  • 2 C ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 3 TSP BAKING POWDER
  • 1/4 TSP BAKING SODA
  • 1/2 TSP SUGAR
  • 1 TSP OF SALT
  • 1 STICK OF BUTTER
  • 1-2 C MILK OR BUTTERMILK

INGREDIENTS FOR MIMOSA:

  • CHAMPAGNE OF CHOICE
  • ORANGE JUICE
  • STRAWBERRIES (HEART SHAPED) TO GARNISH

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. WHISK DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER WELL!
  2. CHOP 1 STICK OF BUTTER INTO SMALL CHUNKS AND CRUMBLE INTO DRY INGREDIENTS.
  3. MIX IN MILK UNTIL YOU HAVE A WET CRUMBLY DOUGH.
  4. FORM BALL AND PLACE ON COUNTER. ROLL OUT TO 1/2 INCH THICKNESS, AND CUT INTO DESIRED SHAPE.
  5. BAKE IN PREHEATED 450° OVEN UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ON TOP
  6. ENJOY!
