LOVING LIVING LOCAL – In the spirit of love, Biskie shares with us her recipe for heart-shaped biscuits. If you’re spending Valentine’s Day at home, why not do Valentine’s Day brunch? Below is a list of ingredients and instructions to make this recipe.
INGREDIENTS FOR BISCUITS
- 2 C ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
- 3 TSP BAKING POWDER
- 1/4 TSP BAKING SODA
- 1/2 TSP SUGAR
- 1 TSP OF SALT
- 1 STICK OF BUTTER
- 1-2 C MILK OR BUTTERMILK
INGREDIENTS FOR MIMOSA:
- CHAMPAGNE OF CHOICE
- ORANGE JUICE
- STRAWBERRIES (HEART SHAPED) TO GARNISH
INSTRUCTIONS:
- WHISK DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER WELL!
- CHOP 1 STICK OF BUTTER INTO SMALL CHUNKS AND CRUMBLE INTO DRY INGREDIENTS.
- MIX IN MILK UNTIL YOU HAVE A WET CRUMBLY DOUGH.
- FORM BALL AND PLACE ON COUNTER. ROLL OUT TO 1/2 INCH THICKNESS, AND CUT INTO DESIRED SHAPE.
- BAKE IN PREHEATED 450° OVEN UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ON TOP
