Fajita Burger Recipe

Makes 7-8 burgers

2lbs. Ground Beef (80/20 mix) Could use 90/10 if you like a more lean beef.

1 Red bell pepper

1 Orange bell pepper

1 Red onion

1 packet of store bought fajita spice mix. If you like it spicy, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the mix.

3 tablespoons of olive oil

3 cups thinly sliced lettuce

1 cup sour cream

7-8 slices of colby jack cheese. If you like it spicy make the cheese pepper jack.

7-8 thick burger buns


Slice veggies into strips.

In a large bowl coat the veggies in olive oil and the fajita spice mix.

Place veggies in an aluminum tray.

Form burger patties making sure they stay loosely packed.

On a hot grill (425+ degrees) place the veggie tray over direct heat. Cook for 10-12 minutes.

Slide the tray to the side, still cooking on indirect heat. You want to cook the veggies for roughly 25 minutes total.

Place burgers on the direct heat on the grill. Grill 4 minutes a side. Top with cheese.

Place burger buns on the grill over indirect heat for roughly 90 seconds to get them slightly toasted.


Assembling the burgers ….

Take a dollop of sour cream, spread it on the bottom burger bun. Top with shredded lettuce. Top with burger & cheese.

Place grilled veggies on the top bun. Squish them down into the bun a bit. Combine both sides and dig in!!!
