Jenna Friday with the Arkansas Festivals & Events Association has everything you need to know about weekend fun in the Natural State.

The Little Rock Wonder Woman race is happening tomorrow but any comic fan can show up and enjoy a course riddled with heroic entertainment, and we hear there is quite the medal to be won and also a fun post-race party at the Statehouse Convention Center! This is a 5 or 10k race that is put on by the same folks who do the Little Rock Marathon so you know it’ll be top notch! You can find race information on their Facebook page.

Bloomin, Blues, & BBQ in the bay in Fairfield Bay will go on rain or shine. It’s a great option for spending your weekend.

A little later on in the month (next weekend May 17 & 18) – the Magnolia Blossom Festival. This event actually goes on all week- they have a huge art show that is in its 68th year, free concerts, a fishing tournament, a 5k race, a car show, and the big star of this festival is the World Championship Steak Cook-off that has been recognized by Food Network and USA Today as one of the best food festival destinations in the south. They top everything off with a big fireworks show afterward and you can find everything you need to know about getting there and getting in on the action at www.blossomfestival.org.

Also happening that same weekend in Heber Springs is Springfest. They’ll have pony rides, bounce houses and a butterfly pavilion that is a lot of fun for the kids, there will be a classic car show and a volkswagon show, live music in the square downtown, food and craft vendors. And you can find a full schedule for everything going on there at www.cityofhebersprings.com

And lastly, Tina Embry was with us from the Smackover Oil Town Festival in south Arkansas to tell us about their great event happening this weekend. They have great contests that display skills used in the oil industry such as a drill bit toss, a pipe tote, rod wrenching contests, and then lots of other fun things such as great free live music from Jason D. Williams and the Cummins Prison Band, the world famous duck race down no name creek, a delicious rib cook-off and an all around fun time in Smackover.
