Missing toddler’s manner of death ruled a homicide, EBR coroner’s office says

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the preliminary autopsy findings rule the manner of death of two-year-old Nevaeh Allen as a homicide.

The child’s cause of death is still pending.

The two-year-old was first reported missing on Friday. Her body was found Sunday in Mississippi.

Phillip Gardner, the mother’s boyfriend, was arrested Saturday night for his involvement in Nevaeh’s disappearance.

He’s being held in the East Baton Rouge Prison, charged with Unlawful Disposal of Remains and Obstruction of Justice. Bond was set at $75,000.
