Natchitoches woman charged in multi-car crash that critically injured toddler

NATCHITOCHES, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Natchitoches woman is facing charges after police say she plowed into several cars at a local intersection Monday evening, injuring four adults and critically injuring a toddler. 

It happened at Keyser Ave. and E. 5th St. just before 7:30 p.m., according to Natchitoches police. The multi-vehicle crash shut down the intersection for several hours while investigators processed the scene.

Photos and video from the scene of the crash show several vehicles wrecked in the intersection. Four other cars that were parked at the nearby were also hit. 

A 3-year-old was critically injured in the crash and airlifted from Natchitoches Regional Medical Center to another medical facility. Police say they are monitoring the condition of the child “and additional/upgraded charges are pending.”

Also injured were a 29-year-old Brittany Payne, a 16-year-old, and 60-year-old Ellen Walker, all of Natchez. 

Brandy Wiley, 38, was charged with negligent injuring, reckless operation, improper lane use and disobey red light. Wiley was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center where she awaits bond.
