17-year-old arrested on murder charges after shooting in Shreveport mobile home park

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A 17-year-old has been arrested on murder charges in connection with Tuesday’s shooting at a Shreveport mobile home park.

According to the Shreveport Police Department, a teenage boy was taken into custody after detectives gathered information that identified him as a suspect in the shooting death of 19-year-old LaDerrick Grant.

Shortly before 8 p.m. the 17-year-old allegedly shot Grant in the chest at the Pinecrest Village Mobile Home Park in the 6700 block of Jefferson Paige Rd. in the Shorewood Hills neighborhood. Grant died at the scene.

SPD investigators say Grant and the teen were arguing when they both opened fire.

The teen was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of second-degree murder.
