House approves bill to study law school for Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) Shreveport could be a step closer to being home to a law school.

The Louisiana House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved a bill by State Rep. Cedric Glover that calls on the Board of Regents to study the viability of a Southern University law school in Shreveport.

Glover says the Caddo Parish Commission has committed one-hundred thousand dollars towards the study. 

Southern Law Chancellor is on record in being in favor of a law school in Shreveport. Glover’s bill has now moved on to the Senate.
