Students in a central Louisiana school district will have one less day of learning.

In Avoyelles Parish, students going to public schools will now be on a 4-day schedule.

On Tuesday Avoyelles Parish School Board voted to go to a four day schedule beginning next school year (2019-2020).

The school board in a post in February said they were considering the change with these specifications.

The vote was 7-2 in favor of the change.
