Teachers with the Marshall Independent School District will be getting a pay raise.
On Thursday, the Marshall ISD Board of Trustees approved Superintendent Dr. Jerry Gibson’s recommendation to unfreeze the teacher salary schedule for the 2019-20 school year.
Teachers will receive a raise from $500 to $2,200 depending on their years of experience.
It will be the first step scale raise since the 2016-17 school year.
The Texas State Senate also voted this week to give teachers a $5,000 pay raise.
