COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The stage is set for the fourth Democratic Presidential Debate at Otterbein University in the Columbus, Ohio suburb of Westerville.

With 12 candidates taking the stage, it will be the largest televised debate in U.S. history.

Across America, Democrats, Republicans and those who don’t identify with either party will be watching the debate on CNN, or on one of the other ways you can listen to or stream the debate.

NBC4 decided we wanted to do something we’ve never done before–something we haven’t seen others do, either. No one watches a debate–or anything on TV, really–without their smartphone nearby. You can’t talk back to us through the TV — but you sure can through your phone.

Before and during the debate, we’re featuring live, interactive specials only on NBC4i.com and the NBC4 app. You can watch on Facebook Live, but it won’t be as cool. See, we’ll be asking you questions–and you can vote by tapping or clicking on the screen, and see the results in real-time, during our:

  • Pre-debate special at 7:35 p.m. EDT
  • Virtual interactive watch party during the debate

A presidential primary debate’s purpose is to broadly share the candidate’s political opinions and public policy proposals. Our purpose with our interactive specials is for you to share your voice as a voter, and for you to see how other voters agree with each candidate.

You can stream the pre-debate special and the live-poll watch party on Your Local Election Headquarters.
