Hogs Entering State Tournament with Clean Slate

The Arkansas High Razorbacks are playing some pretty good baseball of late.

Winners of seven of their last eight heading into this week’s state tournament.

The Hogs enter the tournament as the number five seed out of the west, so they’ll play the east’s number four seed Searcy in the first round of the state tournament.

Coach Berry says he tells the players not to look at the other team’s record.

He says everyone is starting with a clean slate in the state tournament.

Layne Berry said, “We don’t know a whole lot about Searcy. I know they got a couple of good arms. They’re young overall, they’ve played some really close ballgames. They have a lot of losses this year but a lot of those games have been close games. It’s the state tournament time, everybody is 0-0. We know it’s going to be competitive, we got to come out and do our job.”

Arkansas High will play Searcy on Thursday in the first round of the 6A state tournament. First pitch set for 3 o’clock at Greenwood High School.
