1 injured after restaurant employees robbed at gunpoint

East Texas authorities are investigating after restaurant employees were robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.

According to the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, around 1:30 a.m., deputies responded to Rudy’s Taco, located at 1895 Old Highway 135 South in Kilgore, in reference to an aggravated robbery.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a victim who stated two black men robbed him and his three employees at gunpoint while he was closing the restaurant.

The robbers were dressed in dark clothing and concealed their identity.

According to the GCSO, the robbers took multiple items and a significant amount of cash from the restaurant and employees before leaving the scene.

The victim stated he saw two white passenger cars leaving the area just after the robbery occurred.

EMS took a juvenile victim to an area hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries after they were hit by one of the robbers.
