A 13-year-old boy was arrested early this morning after a pursuit that involved him driving a stolen vehicle, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Just before 2 a.m., Blanchard Police notified the Caddo Sheriff’s Office that a citizen observed three males attempting to enter vehicles in the 4900 block of Fairway View.
The males left the area in two Ford F-10 pickups and a Toyota Camry, all of which were later determined to be stolen. Caddo deputies spotted the vehicles and initiated a traffic stop near Chickamauga Trail. The drivers of the vehicles fled in separate directions.
Sheriff’s Deputy Marc Herring said deputies pursued one of the trucks joined by Shreveport Police and Louisiana State Police.
After a 15-minute pursuit, a spike strip was deployed disabling the vehicle. The suspect, later identified as a 13-year-old juvenile, exited the truck and was taken into custody.
Both of the other vehicles were later found abandoned.
The juvenile was booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center for aggravated flight and illegal possession of stolen things.
