Providence House has been helping families escape homelessness for 18 years. Today a group of men and woman graduated from the program.
Executive Director Verni Howard shared that graduation is the goal for which every family strives; it is an indicator of personal and financial achievement.
Families who complete the Providence House program have overcome hurdles, obstacles and several setbacks to reach the finish line. Jessica Harvey, a graduate, said “Some things are more difficult than others but overall it’s a good experience and it’s good for somebody that needs the help.”
Since inception, the agency has graduated 514 families and more than 90% remain working, earning some level of income and are self-sufficient.
