Three people have been arrested in connection with two overnight shootings in Shreveport.

On August 13, 2018, just after 1:00 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to Willis Knighton South Hospital on reports of 24-year-old Javon Young arriving with a non-life threatening gunshot injury to the leg.

Officers learned Young was travelling down Mansfield Road near the intersection of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop when a vehicle pulled alongside of him and a subject began firing multiple rounds into his car.

Police received further information that the same suspect allegedly fired several shots at the Cambridge Court Apartment Complex in the 9000 block of Mansfield Road earlier in the night.

Officers went to the complex and were able to locate several witnesses, and three suspects, 28-year-old Denzel Thomas, of the 4100 block of Twin Oak Circle, Justin Howard 27, of the 9000 block of Mansfield Road, and Lorenzo Thomas of the 4100 block of Twin Oaks Circle. In addition, officers seized Marijuana and five weapons.

Investigators responded to the hospital and then to the Shreveport Police Complex for interviews. Following interviews with all of the witnesses and the suspects, investigators surmised that Denzel Thomas was believed responsible for the shots fired in the apartment complex as well as shooting Young on the roadway.

Denzel Thomas was charged with one count each of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Illegal Use of a Weapon, and Attempted First Degree Murder.

Justin Howard was charged with one count each of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Trigger Lock.

Lorenzo Thomas was charged with one count each of Possession with The Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Trigger lock, and warrants for Access Device Fraud, Criminal Property Damage, Domestic Abuse Battery, Driving under Suspension, and General Speed Law. All were booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
