A Caddo Parish grand jury today returned indictments on the three men accused in the January death of a Shreveport police officer.
Trevon Anderson, 26; Lawrence Pierre, 21; and Glenn Frierson, 38, are all charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Chatéri Payne.
Officer Payne was shot multiple times outside of a home in the 1600 block of Midway Ave. on the evening of January 9. At the time of the shooting, Payne was in uniform and headed in to work her overnight shift.
Anderson, Pierre, and Frierson were arrested January 15 in connection with the case.
Police have said they believe Anderson, who was Payne’s boyfriend and the father of her child, shot and killed her and made up a story of her being killed by an unknown suspect.
According to the arrest affidavit, Pierre led police the location where he ‘hid the weapon used in the murder’.
If convicted of second-degree murder, the three men each face a life term in prison without benefit of probation, parole or reduction in sentence.
