6 Hours of Caring raises $5,000 for Hurricane Harvey victims

NBC Six News and the Red Cross of North Louisiana joined together for 6 Hours of Caring, a telethon to raise money for Hurricane Harvey victims.

Volunteers from CenterPoint Energy and the Centenary Baseball team maned the phones for 6 hours taking donations for the American Red Cross.

91 cents of every dollar donated during the telethon will go directly to Hurricane Harvey Victims.

Cheryl Coleman was a CenterPoint volunteer and said “The first donation I took was 200 dollars and then I’ve had someone call with as small as 10.”

The 6 hours of caring raised $5,000 but you can still donate online at
